The article discusses the characteristic features of the Moscow mayoral elections in 2023. The Moscow mayoral elections were held from 08 to 10 September 2023. Among the candidates were the current mayor of the city S.S. Sobyanin (United Russia), Deputy Speaker of the State Duma B.A. Chernyshov (LDPR), Vice Speaker of the State Duma V.A. Davankov (New People), deputy of the State Duma D.G. Gusev (Fair Russia), deputy of the Moscow City Duma L.A. Zyuganov (Communist Party). Out of the total number of Moscow voters (7,6 million people) almost 3,3 million voters took part in the Moscow mayoral elections. The turnout for the mayoral elections amounted to more than 43% of the total number of Moscow voters. Most of them voted remotely. The peculiarity of the Moscow mayoral election was the absence of violations, complaints of candidates. The Moscow mayoral elections were held as technical ones, since the popularity of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin among voters is well known. Therefore, all parties that have their own factions in the State Duma have submitted official mayoral candidates who play a rather technical role. The competition between them was for the second place after S.S. Sobyanin.
