On September 2, 2025, the Republic of Vietnam celebrated its glorious 80th anniversary

On September 2, 2025, Vietnam celebrated the 80th anniversary of its statehood. This day in 1945 marked the culmination of the Vietnamese multinational community's long struggle for freedom. The peoples of Vietnam, after a fierce and protracted struggle, gained statehood. Under these new circumstances, all their efforts were devoted to the revival of their country and the creation of comfortable living conditions. Many nations around the world express solidarity and sincere respect for this courageous people, whose lives and destinies are linked first to the struggle against Japanese domination, then the French, and then the United States. The success of this struggle also relied on the full support of its home front. Approximately 50 years have passed since the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between Scientists of the USSR and Vietnam. This agreement was also signed between the Institute of History of the Committee of Social Sciences (CON) of Vietnam and the Institute of History of the USSR of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The establishment of close ties allowed for more active implementation of planned joint work on historical issues and Vietnamese affairs at the state level, as well as of individual plans. Successes in many areas were achieved under the renowned, wise politician and statesman, Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh. After the conclusion of the Agreement between the two Institutes of History of the CON of Vietnam and the USSR Academy of Sciences, it became possible to address the issue of civil rights and liberties. This contributed to the stabilization of the situation and the concrete implementation of the planned activities.
