4-methylalkanes in oil of Syurharatinskoe oilfield

Unusual 4-methylalkanes series was identified in the oil of Syurharatinskoe oilfield where it is present in high concentration. It is assumed that the compounds are relic and their presence is reflecting the contribution of specific biota of bacterial origin or cyanobacteria, probably from microbial mat community to the oil source rock organic matter.
