The article considers the source study possibilities and features of publicly available archival documents of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense (MD) of the Russian Federation relating to the restoration of the military history of the rifle division in 1941-1945, that had conscripts of the regions of the Far Eastern Okrug and the Baikal region: the Buryat-Mongolian and Yakut ASSR, Primorsky, Khabarovsk, Chita, Irkutsk, Amur, Jewish autonomous, Kamchatka and Sakhalin regions.
