A. K. Zhiznevski and the study of the antiquities of Tver (on materials of the correspondence between A. K. Zhiznevski and J. K. Grot)

The article is based on the materials of unpublished correspondence between A.К. Zhiznevski and J. K. Grot and addressed some aspects of the study of medieval Tver land. In particular, the correspondence helps to clear up the question of studying the cross of Sterzh, as well as archaeological finds in Tver in the second half of the 19 th century. The author analyzes the characteristics of communications between metropolitan and provincial humanitarian scholars in the context of the development of the humanitarian institutions of Russia in the second half of the 19 th century.
