A. P. Bogolyubov and organization of the first Russian provincial museum of industrial arts

The article traces the most important stages in the development of the first national Museum of Industrial Arts named after A.N. Radyshchev in Saratov, initiated and financed by the Professor of Art, philanthropist and social activist A.P. Bogolyubov with the assistance of art communities of Russia and Russian patrons of art. The author argues for the necessity of organization of the industrial art museums and schools of technical drawing as a major factor contributing to the artistic education of people and successful execution of reforms during the transitional period in the economy of Russia.
