Abkhazian national pedagogy about the social side of morality

The paper analyzes the social aspect of moral education in Abkhazian ethnopedagogics. The paper emphasizes that the use of a rich experience and the ideas of education, which are available in Abkhazian national pedagogy, may be useful for improving the system of moral education of children in the family and society. The paper is the first to reconstruct a complete picture of ideas and experience of moral education in Abkhazian national pedagogy. The author gives a description of the ideal of the perfect personality, purpose and content of moral education existing in the educational practices of the Abkhazians. The paper notes that the moral ideal, ethical views of the Abkhazians are full of humanistic content; they reflect the specificity of their way of life and at the same time have strong universal human orientation.
