Manchurian apricot (Armeniaca mandshurica (Maxim.) Kostina in Primorye

Detailed analysis of more than 100 years' expe- rience of studying and cultivation of an apricot Manchurian (Armeniaca mandshurica (Maxim) Kostina is provided in the research. In a number of regions of our country it is presented in botanical gardens, tree nurseries and parks. The apricot is also widespread abroad in gardens and city gar- dening. A. mandshurica is a relic type of an apricot deserving attention which occupies rather small area, settling down in the south of the Far East Russia, in Northern and Northeast China, and also on the peninsula of Korea. In Southern Primorye, approximately on 45° northern latitude, the north- east part of its area is situated. The apricot is in- cluded in the list of rare and disappearing plants of the Russian Federation. The main available materi- als about A. mandshurica are dated generally to the 20-60-ies of the XX century.
