Paragraphization in text: tactics of its author and perception of readers (according to linguistic experiment)

The paper analyzes the paragraph as the text’s element the form and size of which are affected by both subjective characteristic of its author and by the grammatical features of the language. The conclusion given is that the paragraph is a compositional and stylistic unit of the text. The process of paragraphization shows the progress of its author’s creative activities, and it reflects the development of the author’s logic, which is based on universal laws of human’s thought. The main criterion of the paragraphization are: change of time or change of place in story, change of actors, transition to a new topic, change of communicative registers, turn-taking, and so on.
