Adam de la Halle in light of M.M. Bakhtin

Бесплатный доступ

In the work “Rabelais and his World” Mikhail Bakhtin calls Adam de la Halle's play “Jeu de la Feuillee” a remarkable example of a purely carnival understanding of the world. The article considers how, on the basis of this play, Bakhtin formulates the basic principles and functions of folk-festival forms. The author also supplement Bakhtin’s theory with other, no less carnival-like works by Adam de la Halle - poetic debates “jeux-partis”.
