Addiction and manipulation as threats to modern communication technologies

The paper considers the negative manifestations of new information and communication technologies, namely, the dependence on social sites and the possibility of manipulating the behavior and mentality of the population. The most vivid types of addiction are shown; the dysfunctionality of information available to users is determined. At the same time, the addiction to social media is of a technological nature and associated with the introduction of new communication technologies. Manipulation is a more common phenomenon that can cause real damage to an individual or groups turning into network wars in extreme cases. At the same time, manipulation is not only political in nature; it can manifest itself in a variety of areas. Therefore, the user needs to be attentive to the information received.
