The article is devoted to the legal changes of the borders of Simbirsk (Ulyanovsk) province in 1918 - 1928, and the transmission of some areas to the neighboring regions of the Russian Federation. The authors also analyze the losses of territory and population which Simbirsk province incurred as a result of the reform of the administrative-territorial boundaries.
