Agnonyms as a sociocultural element of communication in the modern language

The research deals with the linguistic phenomenon of agnonyms and analyzes the applicability of these words and phrases in modern colloquial speech. The author reviews several historical studies to illustrate the above-mentioned category. The emphasis is placed on the modern youth language culture affected by popular culture and the Internet. The research highlights a rising trend towards failure to use native words and phrases (in particular, Russian ones) which are increasingly replaced by borrowings such as Anglicisms. This is the result of the influence of the modern multilingual culture generated by Internet users around the world during communication. The study analyzes the basics of youth language culture and demonstrates the attitude of young people to agnonyms and other linguistic phenomena in the context of the culture of present-day society.
