The article presents the results of long-standing investigations on scientific evidence of sustained development of crop science in Orel region. It is testified that the main agro biological factors destabilizing the branch in the region are: periodic manifestation of extreme weather conditions; the presence of larger portion (56,1%) of eroded and erosion dangerous farm lands; irrational land utilization running (crop rotation saturation with grain crops up to 70% and more); complex phytosanitary condition of seeding, and also utilization varieties that are sensitive to biotic and abiotic factors of external environment and that do not correspond to the modern industry requirements. For this reason the prior direction in providing sustainable development of crop science in the region is the transition to adaptive systems of agriculture, which allow optimization of farm land utilization and other natural resources, realization of managed and environmentally sound effects on soil fertility. At the same time in every nature and economic zone it is necessary to take into consideration soil and climatic parameters that in many ways determine the special location of agricultural crops and scientifically based crop rotation., maximum adapted to local conditions In this case is necessary to find the variants with. more diverse crop selection, because the more alteration of different according to biology crops in crop ration the better physiological and biochemical content of soil medium, and the higher level of soil fertility efficiency. It is very important not only to decide on the right selection of crops for crop rotation but also varieties that have become today one of the determining factors of crop science development.
