I reasonably believe that my article confirms the proposed title 'Stock Law in Serbia - now and then' that the idea of legal development, as the platform of modern Serbia, has been lasting for almost 200 years. Following this idea, I have tried to revive numerous regulations regulating different areas, how they are incorporated into legal acts presented in this article, their great importance for understanding their substance, language and style, and adaptability to the needs and challenges of present time, underlying solutions which are sometimes even better than the current ones. By developing this idea, I believe, I have proven that the Serbian legal thought had its uprisings, that the Serbian law had its jewels, and that it is necessary to get rid of the feeling that the only solution for our law is to copy and accept what the others have already prescribed. Presented legal acts, contracts and statutes, will certainly be of a great importance for young lawyers to get to know them better, to analyze them closer, to compare them with current regulations from the area of shares, and will, de lege ferenda, contribute to further development of Serbian legal thinking. From the above said and taking the following motto, it could be concluded that the limited companies in Serbia were established in past twenty years, which means it is only their beginning. Like as if the same did not exist for almost 100 years in a period from 1850-1945 and in a very developed shape, which were on the European level of that time.
