A study was conducted to determine the catalase activity in the bark of annual shoots and buds of three deciduous tree species in the Yoshkar-Ola city and the Botanical garden-Institute of VSUT. Among the studied plants, the highest catalase activity was observed in Malus baccata. In this species, the enzyme is more active in the buds, and in Aesculus hippocastanum and Tilia cordata - in the bark. In urban conditions, Aesculus hippocastanum catalase activity significantly exceeds the control values. In Malus baccata, there were no statistically significant differences between the values in the city and the control.
