Activity of NAD (Phosphorus)-dependent dehydrogenases, ribosomal proteins and microcirculation development in smooth muscle tumors of the uturus: clinical-morphological parameters and differentiated diagnosis

Histochemical study of ribosomal proteins in benign and malignant smooth-muscle tumors of the uterus was carried out. Characteristics of microcirculatory channel were defined by the Gomory method. Paraffin sections of tumors were stained with AgN03 according to Y Daskal et al (1980) method, and the average number of silver granules per 1 myocyte nucleus was calculated. Total metabolic activity of sarcoma atypical smooth-muscle cells with respect to the NADH2-diaphrase level was higher against cellular leiomyomas: 81.9 ± 9.5 and 32 ± 3.8, respectively. Processes of aerobic respiration by the content of SDG and intensity of anaerobic glycosis processes were significantly higher in leiomyosarcomas than in leiomyomas (49.9 ±2.6 and 11.9 ±4.5; 24.7 ± 10.3 and 15.1 ± 3.4, respectively). Cellular leiomyomas were characterized by intensive staining of vessels on alkaline phosphatase and the presence of multiple capillary vascular loops. There was also noted the presence of incompleteness of structure of some loops and a great deal of growing new cappilaries. For leiomyosarcomas, intensity of reaction to AP increased with increasing the number of growing capillaries. Capillary pattern got the form of laces. Percentage ratio of vessels to the total size of the tumor was 10.13 ± 1.54 % in cellular leiomyomas and 17.2 ± 2.7 % in sarcomas. Expression of ribosomal proteins according to the Ag-NOR level increased in the chain «fibrimyoma-simple leiomyoma-cellular leiomyoma-leiomyosarcoma».
