Active processes in English phonetics in the aspect of world English’s paradigm

The article highlights the processes of increasing phonetic variation in modern English, resulting from the expansion of its use as an intermediary language in the global speech communication. The problems of the lingua franca variability, which today are among the central in the language contacts studies, include searching the ways to describe the processes of languages' interaction, the peculiarities of World Englishes, the probability of speech organization in the context of communication with non-native speakers, the strategies ofperceiving accented speech, and other aspects. The findings of the practical research of the sound specificity in East Asian Englishes are presented.
