Updating approaches to modeling and assessment of social and economic metasystems

The article presents the authors’ methods of modeling and assessment of social and economic metasystems; it reflects their typical quantitative indicators. It is known that the metasystem, in contrast to the ordinary one, includes the relatively independent components that are not obligatory for its operation. In the contemporary world, the number and the role of social and economic metasystems (to be more precisely, spatially distributed enterprises and organizations) are steadily increasing. It determines the necessity to find new ways of their modeling and assessment. The authors propose the multifunctional modeling and assessing methods that are applicable to a social and economic system of any kind (including spatially distributed higher educational institutions) and location. The dominating methods of investigation included quality measurement, set theory, mathematical statistics (especially scree plot method); a metasystem approach was the methodological foundation of this study.
