Problem of formation of professionally important qualities of pilots in aviation education

The article provides a classification of professionally important qualities of pilots. The authors point that the effectiveness of the process of formation of moral and volitional qualities of pilots is due to various factors: combination of democracy and unity of command; humanization of all the bases of vital activity of the troops; affirmation of patriotism and loyalty to the Fatherland; organization of a healthy moral environment in military units; providing exemplary teamwork behavior; motivation of their activity in self-development and self-improvement. The main groups of professionally important qualities of pilots include such groups as: personal, intellectual, psycho-physiological, physiological and physical. The versatility of the process of the formation of morality of military pilots is revealed, which is based on a whole range of tasks: the development of moral consciousness, the formation of officer pride for their homeland, the moral behavior of an officer as a military leader, teacher and teacher of cadets, chief of his subordinates. The authors reveal the role of the competencebased approach in the development of personal and social qualities of officer-pilots, the principles of their formation in the process of aviation education. The paper provides the examples of the national history of the development of the Russian aviation corps, acquaintance with which is not only interesting, but also useful for those who wear shoulder straps and consider themselves to be the successor of national traditions in aviation.
