Current directions of prosecutorial supervision over the observance of the rights of minors (a case study of the Novosibirsk region)

One of the priorities in the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation is prosecutorial supervision over the implementation of laws on minors, observance of their rights and legitimate interests. Over the past few years, there has been an annual increase in the number of appeals received by the prosecutor’s office on issues of violation of legislation in this area. Accordingly, every year the number of violations of laws in the sphere of observance of the rights and interests of minors increases; at the same time, their share in the structure of all violations of laws identified by prosecutors in the implementation of powers to supervise the implementation of laws, observance of human and civil rights and freedoms is almost a fifth. In this article, using the example of prosecutorial supervision practice of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Novosibirsk Region, the most relevant areas of prosecutorial supervision over observance of the rights of minors are formulated.
