Current directions of victimological prevention of remote theft

The relevance of the presented research topic is beyond doubt: the transition of the economy to a new digital level of development allows criminals to find and exploit the weaknesses of new digital services providing public and financial services, trading on the Internet. The article considers the current situation with the spread of remote theft; existing factors that prevent the effective prevention and suppression of such acts; the system of victimological prevention of remote theft; the existing measures to counter remote theft undertaken at various levels are analyzed. The author analyzes not only changes in the dynamics of remote theft, but also their structure, the methods used by fraudsters, which in turn require taking by the state and society measures of counteraction corresponding to new threats and methods. In addition, the author draws attention to the need for mandatory inclusion in the system of measures to prevent cyber fraud, not only measures to identify them, neutralize determinants, individual victimological prevention, but also the inclusion of measures of restorative and compensatory justice: criminal and property liability of participants of financial service market for neglect in the field of information security of their clients. This will shift the burden of responsibility from the client to unscrupulous participants in the financial service market, increase their interest not only in providing new digital services and opportunities, but also property guarantees of cybersecurity of transactions in the digital environment.
