Current scientific and practical approaches to the determination of the essence of intermediary entrepreneurship in the sphere of wholesale trade

The article examines the role, purpose and essence of intermediary entrepreneur-ship in the national economy, and it analyses the dynamics of wholesale trade de-velopment in Russia for 2000-2016. It also identifies main scientific and practicalapproaches to the definition of the «wholesale trade» concept in commercial media-tion. The author substantiates the necessity of allocating an additional «functional»approach to the definition of wholesale trade.
