The study was performed in the framework of the new scientific direction - political linguistics that studies the problems of relationships among the language, the thought and communication processes. This discipline is closely associated with sociolinguistics, discourse, and functional stylistics. The question of characteristic features of the modern political language is one of the most pressing political issues of linguistics. Different names specifying contemporary political language are found in scientific literature: the political speech, the language of social and political thought, and the language of political discourse. The terminological vocabulary is a compulsory component of the language of a party leader, a statesman and a public figure. The ability to freely, correctly and efficiently operate such terminology testifies of the high level of professional competency development in the speaker. As observations show, the political vocabulary is systematically updated and renewed, and its dynamics is closely linked with the processes occurring in reality. Multiple changes occur not only in the political vocabulary but also in its morphology. The article deals with the socio-political vocabulary containing such productive prefixes as de- and re-. The prefixes were actualized because of the need to create new derivatives nominating processes and phenomena of the modern society. The information and analytical programs of the TV channel Russia-24, as well as statements of individual politicians were used as research materials of the study.
