Exemption from criminal responsibility of persons who voluntarily report bribery in order to protect the rights and freedoms of man and citizen from unwarranted prosecution: current issues

Introduction: in the article, on the example of investigative practice, it was proposed to amend the criminal procedure legislation in order to make decisions on refusal to initiate criminal proceedings when a person voluntarily reports a bribe, according to the note to Article 291 of the Criminal Code, without initiating a criminal case. Materials and Methods: the regulatory basis of the study was formed by the provisions of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation and other Federal laws of the Russian Federation on issues related to the exemption from criminal liability of persons who voluntarily reported bribery. The dialectical method of cognition of empirical reality, and also formal-logical, system-structural, historical, comparative-legal, sociological, statistical methods made up the methodological basis of the study.
