The author considers the problems of countering theft in remote banking systems. Analyzes the relevant provisions of Russian legislation, law enforcement practice and statistical data. He concludes that the task of countering remote theft cannot be reduced only to the modernization of criminal legislation, it is necessary to eliminate the factors that negatively affect information security in the financial sector.
