Actual problems of development single-industry cities of Kuzbass and possibilities their solutions

The authorities are trying to solve the problems of the development of single-industry towns by diversifying economies, attracting investment and stimulating business. A review of foreign experience in developing monospecialized cities yielded similar results. Kuzbass towns have similar characteristics: mining and processing specialization, location around major transportation hubs and energy-generating sources. From the point of view of the spatial structure, the Kemerovo region consists of two large agglomerations. The ranking of mono-cities based on the size of the gross regional product and the development of the health infrastructure shows that there is a significant gap in the individual socio-economic indicators of the large cities and monocities. Therefore, an additional impetus is needed to ensure the dynamic development of the mono-specialized cities of the Kemerovo Region, it can be a public-private partnership. Comprehensive plans for the development of single-industry towns of the Kemerovo region presuppose the attraction of extra-budgetary funds, but they lack clearly defined benefits for investors and competitive requirements for the selection of projects...
