Actual problems of sport in the system of international politics

The study analyzes the current problems of sports in international politics. The historical aspects of the problem of the infl uence of international relations on sports were investigated. The current state of the issue was studied. The methods of analysis and synthesis were used, the problems of the infl uence of international relations on sports, the consequences of the modern era were identifi ed, and how sport contributed to national ideas of state power were explained. It explains how sport turned out to be an eff ective mechanism for achieving political goals and on the basis of this, the prerequisites are determined: local and imperial identity of the premodern era; community unifi cation and the formation of national identity in many cases was as a consequence of the existence of an external enemy; the function of "marketing of national identity". The issues of the ideology of states in sports are touched upon. The modern infl uence of political and economic relations on sports is determined.
