Current problems of protecting the intellectual rights of the author to musical works distributed on the Internet

This article reveals a topical issue related to the protection of intellectual property rights on the «Internet». The «Internet» is the main source of distribution of intellectual property, but this method is sometimes illegal since there is a possibility of distribution and placement of works of intellectual activity without the permission of the copyright holder. The article analyzes in detail the problematic aspects in the field of intellectual property rights on the example of copyright protection for musical works and identifies ways to solve the identified problems. As a result, the author concludes that it is necessary to change the current legislation and improve the protection mechanisms.
