Topical issues of the police activities on prevention of extremist offences

In accordance with the Conception of the state national policy of the Russian Federation, the article considers the areas of activities requiring special attention from the public authorities for prevention of terrorist acts and suppression of extremist sentiments. It is emphasized that the terrorist activity is focused on destabilization of social and ethno-political situation in society and creation of acute conflicts. Among the actions that are being taken today by the police for preclusion and exposure of extremist organizations at early stages there are preventive measures and monitoring of mass media and Internet information resources.
