The article raises the problem of international migration as a phenomenon in the modern world that has become widespread. Every year, several million people migrate around the planet in search of a better life. Since cheap labor and innovative young personnel are a very attractive category of migrants by many indicators at once, employers and universities are starting to conduct a real “fight for talent”, trying to attract suitable personnel, as well as smart and ambitious young people. The purpose of the article is to analyze the situation with international migration that has developed in the countries of Central Asia, especially in Uzbekistan, at the present stage due to the active development of this process. The authors substantiate the point of view that excessive migration from Uzbekistan causes significant economic, demographic and innovative damage to the country, which requires active and adequate decisions at the state level. It is important for the state to ensure not only an increase in the level of education in the context of global digitalization, but also the preservation of highly qualified personnel for the national economy. The authors conclude that timely resolution of international migration issues will undoubtedly provide Uzbekistan with sustainable economic growth and transition to innovative development.
