The relevant issues of the marriage contract development in the Russian Federation: theory and practice

The purpose of this study is to review the relevant issues of the marriage contract conclusion in Russia. The marriage contract development requires an effective legal mechanism that will ensure the clarity and completeness of its regulation. Based on the analysis of civil, family law and judicial practice, the study identifies the gaps in and the incompatibility with the marriage contract regulation that complicate its practical application. The research examines the institution of the marriage contract in the Russian Federation considering the dynamic nature and programs of economic and political reforms in society. The authors make suggestions for improving the legal regulation of the marital relationship when a marriage contract is signed and comes into effect as well as for increasing the number of concluded contracts.
