The Alaas as an element of sacral landscape in the culture of modern Yakuts

The article describes the main element of the cultural and natural landscape, which is important for the material and spiritual culture of Yakutia - the Alaas. For contemporary Yakuts it is a special object of nature, a sacred area. In the course of the study the author reveals the remnants of shamanistic worship and animism. The work applies the published ethnographic sources, scientific literature and author’s field materials.
