American Catholics as a religious minority

The article focuses on American Catholics. Its purpose is to study the position of the Catholic population of the United States as a religious minority in American society, which exhibits a high level of religious heterogeneity, and also makes it possible to identify religious groups and study their position in the model of American religious pluralism. The study reveals the content of the concept of “religious minority” and its manifestations in American demography, and also examines the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the Catholic population of the United States. Descriptive and comparative methods are used to identify the demographic characteristics of American society and the Catholic population.
