Analytical excursus in the theory of modern democracies

The article considers various conceptual approaches of modern Western scholars to the nature and the essence of the democratic organization of a society. The authors prove undoubted development of understanding of the modern democracy theory. The paper compares different conceptual approaches to highlight those features of democracy that can be most suitable for the actual development of the society.
