Analysis of the dynamics of the development of the digital economy in the regions of Russia

Goals. Assessment of the dynamics of the development of the digital economy of Russian regions in the context of selected subsystems that characterize the use of information and communication technologies. Methodology. This study assessed the composition of homogeneous groups of regions in the period from 2017 to 2019. using cluster analysis using the K-means method for 14 indicators. Results. As a result of virtual clustering in the period from 2017 to 2019. the compositions of five groups of Russian regions similar in a number of characteristics are analyzed. The characteristics of the regions are determined in terms of such indicators as the availability of broadband Internet, the intensity of Internet use, digital skills, the level of digitalization, and the use of ICT. Conclusion. As a result of the work carried out, the composition of homogeneous groups of regions was determined, and their comparison was made. Based on the data obtained, characteristics are given for homogeneous groups of regions in the context of subsystems. The analyzed dynamics of the selected indicators will make it possible to make management decisions aimed at ensuring the balanced development of the regional digital economy.
