The analysis of existing dataase management system (hereafter DBMS) and the optimal choice of DBMS, using the analytic hierarchy process, is undertaken in the article. The main criteria for the choice of DBMS are defined and a matrix of pairwise comparisons of alternatives is given for each criterion with the computation of the priority vectors of the main eigenvalue, consistency index, random index and consistency relations. The optimal DBMS is determined at the end of the article.
