Analysis of innovative technologies for organizing parking spaces in megacities

According to global vehicle ownership and vehicle production statistics, the number of car owners grows rapidly every year. With the growing number of car owners, the parking process has become an increasingly pressing social problem, primarily due to the lack of parking spaces. In most cases, searching for a suitable parking space takes a long time costs. In addition, the long searching for a free parking space in heavy traffic conditions can lead to such negative consequences as a fatigue and strain on driver or even car accidents. The problem of lack of parking spaces and increased traffic jams due to low road capacity is particularly acute in large megapolises. Solving these problems requires the use of innovative technologies in the organization of parking space and the parking process. The article describes the main problems of megapolises related to car parking and suggests possible ways to solve them using advanced technologies. This study concluded that one of the most effective solutions for optimizing parking space in megapolises is a parking robot.
