The changes of land cover of mountain regions of the Western Serbia on the basis of the data of CORINE Land Cover and the model DPSIR are considered. The analysis of the 1990–2018s demonstrated the reduction of the agricultural area and the widening of the forest vegetation as the display of natural succession and ecological stabilization. There is shown the significance of the analysis of land cover for the evaluation of ecological dynamics and sustainable management of mountain territories.
