Analysis of the use of foreign breeding seeds on the Russian spring soft wheat market in 2023

The article presents an analysis of the use of foreign selection seeds on the spring soft wheat market in Russia in 2023. The composition of foreign varieties, their origin, and volumes of seed sales were analyzed. An analysis of the market structure was carried out, and the varieties that occupy the largest share in sales were identified. Based on the results of the research, it was revealed that all foreign varieties presented on the market in 2023 were created in unfriendly countries, which creates real threats to food security in the event of an aggravation of the foreign policy situation and a cessation of supplies of original seeds from unfriendly countries to Russia.
