The analysis of the state social policy of Russia is provided. In recent years many actions directed on improvement of social security of the population are carried out. However the analysis revealed that indicators testifying to efficiency of social policy in our country are at lower level in comparison with the developed countries. It indicates need of further improvement of this sphere of social policy.
