Hydrochloric acid treatment is the main method for stimulating oil production from carbonate reservoirs. There are a large number of variations of hydrochloric acid treatments, which differ mainly in technology and mechanism of action on the reservoir. In connection with the many types of acid treatments, the question of choosing a treatment method arises. One of the main criteria for choosing the types of acid treatment is the water cut of the wells. In order to reflect the recommendations for all types of reservoirs, an addendum to the generalized classification of carbonate reservoirs has been compiled.
