Prices for traditional fuels are constantly growing, and the unstable situation on the international market does not positively affect all these processes. There is an acute question of switching to another type of fuel for large-tonnage vehicles, since such vehicles have a higher fuel consumption. Modern society is also concerned about the level of environmental pollution, therefore, for exceeding the coefficient of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, vehicle owners are subject to penalties, and the current geopolitical situation also does not add stability to oil prices on the Russian market. All this forces truck owners to switch to other types of fuel, so the study devoted to the analysis of the introduction of gas-cylinder equipment seems to be extremely relevant. The article discusses the effectiveness of installing gas-cylinder equipment on trucks - tasks, goals, stages of implementation, benefits and efficiency. As an object of study, cars with other types of fuel (gasoline, diesel and electricity) were considered, their advantages and disadvantages were given in comparison with the proposed fuel. Carried out: an analysis of the rise in prices for traditional fuels (gasoline), an analysis of harmful emissions into the atmosphere by vehicles, as well as a consensus forecast for oil demand. After that, the calculation of the introduction of gas-cylinder equipment on trucks was carried out using economic calculations, as well as methods of comparative analysis and statistical processing of information. General conclusions were made about the relevance of the introduction of such installations on large-tonnage vehicles, and the prospects for their further development were analyzed.
