Analysis of the diffraction pattern of radiation from remote sources of monochromatic and white light on centrally symmetric structures

The diffraction pattern is analyzed of radiation from remote sources of monochromatic and white light on centrally symmetrical structures. One of these structures is a random two-dimensional centrally symmetric (STDCS) speckle structure. It is formed by recording by the receiving aperture the distribution of the intensity of laser radiation scattered by a flat round rough surface. The other is a one-dimensional centrally symmetric structure with a deterministic sinusoidal distribution. It is formed by recording by the receiving aperture the intensity of laser radiation scattered by two narrow slits symmetrically located relative to the axis of the receiving aperture, cut in an opaque screen. It is shown, that during the diffraction of radiation on the STDCS coming from the source of monochromatic light, a single-color centrally symmetrical speckle-structure is formed, and when diffraction of radiation on the STDCS coming from the white light source, a multi-color centrally symmetric speckle-structure is formed.The results obtained in the work make it possible to explain the effect of the appearance on the retina of the eye of single-color centrally symmetrical speckle-structures in the process of observing remote sources of monochromatic light and multicolor centrally symmetric speckle-structures in the process of observing white light sources. It is shown that the formation of such structures on the retina of the eye is explained as the result of diffraction of radiation from distant sources on the upper eyelashes, which can be interpreted as centrally symmetric speckle-structure in all radial directions. Speckle structures formed on the retina of the eye are formed, for example, when observing distant glare that occurs when reflecting solar, from remote sources of monochromatic and white light against the background of the night sky, as well the white light emitted by the flashlights of mobile phones.
