The analysis of the cultural and leisure preferences of Yakutsk population

The article presents the results of the analysis of cultural and leisure preferences of the population of the city of Yakutsk. It emphasizes the importance of the leisure activities allowing people to recuperate under the conditions of the contemporary social transformations. The author notes the increase in people’s expenses on cultural and recreational services for the period from 2005 to 2013. The reasons hindering the active visit of cultural and entertainment institutions (theaters, museums, libraries, concert halls) by respondents are discussed.
