Analysis of the method for calculating the quality of the urban environment

The article analyzes methodological approaches to the development of an urban environment index. The city index is defined as a comprehensive indicator reflecting the level of development of the urban environment and quality of life in the city. A comparative analysis of two methods for assessing the state of the urban environment was carried out and conclusions were drawn about their advantages and disadvantages. The study made it possible to formulate a thesis about the need to take into account the specifics of urban entities during the assessment, as well as to proceed from the recognition of differences in the preferences and needs of their residents.
