Analysis of intergenerational gaps and contradictions on the example of the United States

The problem of «fathers» and «children» is relevant at all times, it has been given a large place in literature, music, sociology and psychology. However, since the 1950s (the period of Vietnam War, which divided American society into two camps - those who supported and opposed the country's foreign policy; among them are young people who appealed to the left movement), the topic of intergenerational relations is actively discussed in political sciences, and the relations between generations determine the level of society’s consolidation. Today, rapidly changing norms of behavior and value attitudes once again is the cause of contradictions between generations, since the speed and desire for their implementation differ among representatives of different generations.
