The Article is devoted to the innovative and scientific potential of the region, its analysis and state. The analysis is based on materials based on the example of the Ivanovo region. To form an effective innovation and scientific structure, the Ivanovo region has the necessary innovation potential and developed infrastructure. Innovation and scientific resources are important both for the efficiency of the regional economy and for the formation of the competitiveness of economic entities, a special role in increasing which is played by the support of local producers in ensuring import substitution in the post-pandemic period of their development. The article presents an analysis of the innovative potential, the directions of innovation and scientific activity of the region, the position of its innovation processes. The article highlights the principles of development of the innovation complex and infrastructure, the advantages of a number of scientific directions in the development of the region's economy in the post-pandemic period, the relevance of research on the consumer market as one of the leading strategic units in the structure of the regional economy. In the development of innovation and scientific potential, a number of fundamental advantages of the Ivanovo region are highlighted. In conclusion, there are identified industries and industries that can become drivers in the development of innovative and scientific potential of the region, and the need to implement a regional policy that would facilitate the transformation of ideas into innovative products is justified.
