The author analyzes the changes made in Chapters 1–4 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, in particular, the implementation of the principle of good faith in the exercise of civil rights and obligations, the expansion and refinement of rules prohibiting the abuse of rights. Examines some of the problematic aspects of the new rules on state registration of property rights and new rules related to legal capacity of persons, to establishment of a peasant (farm) household as a legal entity.
