Analysis of long-term complications after forming support-motor eyeball stump by an polytetrafluoroethylene implant in back evisceration

The analysis of postoperative complications in 46 patients after back evisceration with implantation of porous polytetrafluoroethylene ophthalmic implant, made by the severe eye injury. Long-term complications from back evisceration occurred in 8,7% of cases. All complications were corneal location and have been associated with the presence of corneal injury as a result of trauma. The frequency of irreversible complications was 4,35%. Observation period of 7 days to 48 months.
